NASA’s Perseverance rover safely lands on Mars

NASA’s Perseverance rover successfully landed on the surface of Mars. It landed around 3:55 p.m. ET, after a gentle descent to the surface, reported Engadget.

From the landing site shortly after landing – NASA promised to share high-resolution photos later in the day.

NASA launched Perseverance in late July from Cape Canaveral, Florida. His landing culminates a busy month of arrivals to the Red Planet.

For two days last week, the United Arab Emirates and China successfully put their respective spacecraft into orbit around Mars.

Now that it is safe on the planet’s surface, Perseverance will explore Jezero Crater, a dusty and dangerous 28-a mile from Mars that was once an ancient river lake.

NASA’s hope is that the rover will find signs of ancient microbial life while there. selection of instruments, including traditional and ultraviolet cameras, to refine in a promising site before deploying a drill to take core samples.
